Welcome to Preaching Freedom
Ga 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
Galatians chapter 5
1 ΒΆ Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Bondage can take on may forms. I spoke to a man the other day who thought it nothing to voluntarily yolk himself and his Congregation to ordinances of man. Can a man serve two masters?
Some will say then that there are many Bible believing Churches out their that are in voluntary subjection to the ordinances of man that are contrary to the ordinances of God. I feel the question is not one of "believing" and then walking in the opposite direction of Belief, But rather one of Obeying and walking in the same direction of Belief.
I hope to be able to raise issues here to help folks think that it is not the peoples of God's commission to believe only.... But to Believe and to Obey, that is to trust and Obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Personally I do not think a man can serve two masters... I agree with Jesus:
Lu 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
I also agree with Peter:
Ac 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
I also Agree with Moses:
Heb 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
I also agree with John:
Ac 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
